Booth Exhibitors
Exhibit Booths Focus
The Heron Festival includes an outdoors exhibit booth area with both educational booths from nature-related government agencies and nonprofit organizations and also vendor booths featuring artists and craftspeople who sell high-quality nature-related crafts.
The 2010 festival drew 1,897 attendees during the two days. Forty percent were from outside Lake County. There were 31 exhibitors; of these, 13 were educational groups and 18 were craft vendors.
Exhibit space is limited, and we may not be able to accommodate all applicants.
Festival Marketing Campaign
Thanks to generous support from the Lake County Marketing Department, the festival has a broad marketing outreach to the public. 7,500 four-color rack cards are printed and distributed each year. These rack cards are systematically targeted to birding and nature festivals (average 600 attendees each) in Northern California and the major sports/recreation tourism shows where Lake County takes a booth.
The County of Lake Marketing Department runs a Heron Festival ad in the April issue of Sunset magazine, as well as a series of ads in the San Francisco Chronicle and the Santa Rosa Press-Democrat. The festival is often listed in the Events Calendar in the March-April issue of CSAA’s VIA Magazine.
Exhibit Booth Information
The exhibit booths at the Heron Festival are outdoors in an open area across from the Visitor Center. They are thus exposed to the elements. As you might expect, some years we have had great weather and other years have been rainy. In case of severe rain, the exhibit booths may be canceled.
Exhibitors supply their own table(s) and shade tents. Tent size can be up to 12’x12’. Electricity is not available in this area.
Educational nonprofit booths are free. The cost for crafters/vendors is $30.00. For that price, vendors can have a booth on Saturday or Sunday, or both days.
Booth Set-up
Set-up is between 8:00-9:00 am both days. Booths are expected to be open to the public at 9:00 am both days (some activities for attendees begin at 8:00 am). Closing time is 4:00 p.m. on both Saturday and Sunday.
Overnight security is provided by the Redbud Audubon Society. It is advisable not to leave anything of great value in your space overnight. Redbud Audubon Society, Inc. and Clear Lake State Park cannot be responsible for any lost or stolen goods.
